8th ANNUAL “On the Lawn” FREE SUMMER CONCERTS SERIES AT NEW LOCATION BOASTS SAME STAGE, FUN AND LOTS OF GREAT MUSIC ALL SUMMER LONG! Sugar Loaf, NY The “on the Lawn” free summer concert series is having it’s 8th year at a brand new location in Sugar Loaf. The extremely popular series will be on the grounds of Sugar Loaf Crossing off of Kings Highway near the post office on the edge of town. Only the location has changed. As everyone has come to expect, there will be the same huge stage, great sound system and impressive musical talent. Still on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm and still a great way to kick back with family and friends all summer long! The series will kick off on Thursday, July 12th with the Hudson Valley’s best band, EMISH! Emish will bring to the stage their well-known sound, “Celtic rock with an edge”. This high-powered rock band with an Irish heart will start the season with a bang! Next up is the Mighty Spectrum Band on July 19th. The Mighty Spectrum Band is a nine piece “Brass Kicking” Rock and Soul horn band... playing the best of Springsteen, Chicago, the Blues Brothers, James Brown, Van Morrison, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes and more. They will make sure that everyone enjoys a night of great music and dancing!
To round out July on the 26th two bands will take the stage. First up, Chuck Schaeffer, a singer-songwriter from Yardley, PA, will perform original and cover songs in the Rockabilly, Country and Americana genres. And we’ll welcome back Loretta Hagen, who is an award-winning Folk, Americana and Blues recording artist.
August heats up on the 2nd with the Dan Brother Band. Dan Brother is an up-tempo, guitar based Blues, Rock, Soul band with danceable grooves and harmonic vocals.
On August 9th Love Assassin, from northern NJ, will take the stage. Their music is an original blend of driving Rock, heart-on-the-sleeve lyrics and catchy songwriting. Catch them for an energetic live performance! Warming up the stage that night will also be Warwick’s own Ava Rae Heatley. Singer-songwriter Ava performs original piano based Pop Rock, combining smooth vocals with playful yet relevant lyrics.
And on August 16th Pamela Moore & the Blackberry Blues Band will bring the series to a smokin’ end! Blackberry Blues Band is an original Funk and Blues band whose energy and love for playing their music radiates off the stage, igniting the audience. They are contagious and fun!
Concerts are on Thursdays from 6:30 – 8:30 pm for six weeks starting July12th through August 16th. They are held on the lawn at Sugar Loaf Crossing and are free to the public. Concert goers are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets, family and friends. Refreshments will also be available on site.
